Magnolia Plantation decorating with gingerbread

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Visitors to a plantation on the South Carolina coast have a chance to enjoy some holiday gingerbread. .

Throughout December, a replica of a gingerbread house and Santa’s workshop will be on the lawn at the main house of Magnolia Plantation and Gardens near Charleston.

Parents can stop there and read Christmas stories to their children or photograph their kids in a gingerbread man cutout.

On the Saturdays and Sundays before Christmas, children and their parents can also decorate gingerbread cookies, and a Victorian Santa will stroll the graveled paths around the house.

Families can also enter their homemade gingerbread creations in a contest for display at the plantation.
