SC school administrators to receive top honors

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Educators in Irmo, Spartanburg and Piedmont are to be recognized as outstanding principals.

The South Carolina Association of School Administrators has named Christina Melton of Nursery Road Elementary in Lexington/Richland 5 as the 2012 elementary school principal of the year. Meredith Rose of Jesse Boyd Elementary School in Spartanburg 7 is the elementary assistant principal of the year.

Robbie Binnicker of Wren High School in Anderson 1 took top honors as the 2012 high school principal of the year.

The winners were announced this week.

The school administrators group has more than 2,800 members statewide.
