Charleston parade of boats on water this weekend
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A floating holiday tradition is ready to set sail in Charleston.
The annual parade of boats Is scheduled to wind its way through Charleston Harbor on Saturday evening.
More than 40 decorated boats are expected to be in the procession that starts near Mount Pleasant, passes Patriots Point and then crosses the Cooper River to Charleston, passing near the Battery.
Just before the parade begins on the harbor, the city of Charleston lights its Christmas tree in Marion Square.
