Victim identified in multi-vehicle collision at Bethel Church Road in Newberry

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – The Newberry County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a multi-vehicle collision on April 23.

Coroner Laura Kneece says Urijah Quick, 22, died from his injuries on Tuesday.

Authorities say the collision happened at the intersection of Bethel Church Road at Seibert Road around 7 a.m.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Quick was driving a 2014 Ford when he stopped on Seibert Road and tried to make a left turn onto Bethel Church Road, when he was hit by a 2008 Chevy SUV.

Troopers say Quick was entrapped and later died at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, while the SUV driver wasn’t injured.

According to officials, they don’t know if Quick was wearing a seat belt in the collision.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Coroner’s Office is investigating.
