Lexington PD reveal results from month-long crack down on traffic violations

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Last month, we told you about the Lexington Police Department’s efforts to crack down on traffic violations at several intersections in town. The results are now in.

Police say officers made 18 traffic stops and wrote citations for violations ranging from failure to yield right of way to unlawful possession of a firearm and DUI, during the month-long effort. In total, police say they issued six seat belt violations, one speeding violation, one failure to yield violation, one following too closely violation, three improper passing violations and an arrest for DUI, unlawful carrying of a handgun and possession of marijuana.
