Investigators searching for a motive in Tuesday’s shooting at a California fire station

CNN– Authorities say a firefighter was killed and a fire captain was wounded in a shooting at a fire station in California on Tuesday. Fire Chief Daryl Osby says the suspect was an off-duty firefighter who was later found dead at his home, which was set on fire.

According to investigators, the suspect was involved in a dispute with a co-worker.

Officials say 44-year-old Tory Carlon died, while the fire captain is in critical but stable condition. Investigators say two other firefighters were also at the firehouse when the shooting happened, and were able to alert deputies. Detectives are working to confirm a motive.
