FBI demonstrating explosives detonation in SC
BOWMAN, S.C. (AP) — Federal authorities are in South Carolina to offer a class on improvised explosives.
The FBI on Thursday is hosting a National Improvised Explosives Familiarization Seminar. The one-day program includes classroom instruction and lectures on weapons of mass destruction, clandestine drug labs and improvised explosives.
There is also a hands-on demonstration of a wide variety of explosives, most of which can be made with common household chemicals.
Organizers hope the demonstration in Bowman will help people understand how dangerous some chemicals can be in the hands of terrorists and experimenters.
