2 injured in school bus crash in Berkeley County

ST. STEPHEN, S.C. (AP) — Two people have been injured in an accident involving a school bus, a tractor-trailer and a car in St. Stephen in Berkeley County.

The Highway Patrol said the accident happened about 7:45 a.m. Thursday in front of J.K. Gourdin Elementary School on Highway 45 when a car tried to pass the bus across a double yellow line. The car ended up sandwiched between the bus and the tractor-trailer.

The driver of the car and one of the students on the bus were taken to a hospital. Authorities said the injuries were not life-threatening.

No one else was hurt. The bus was carrying 18 other students.
