Fort Jackson welcomes Colonel Ryan Hanson as new Garrison Commander

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Fort Jackson welcomed a new Garrison Commander this afternoon. The change of command ceremony welcomed Colonel Ryan Hanson as its new Garrison Commander. He will assume command from Colonel John Hankins, who is leaving to work at the Pentagon.

Colonel Hanson first joined the U.S. Army in 1991, and says he’s glad to be back on the east coast. Colonel Hanson is a Wisconsin native but calls South Carolina home because he has family in the Upstate and the Lowcountry.
