SC Legislative Audit Council Gets New Director
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – South Carolina’s Legislative Audit Council has appointed Perry Simpson as its new director. Simpson is a 28-year veteran with the Council and has been part of its management team for more than 10 years. The council conducts independent and objective performance audits of state agencies and programs as required by the General Assembly and mandated by law. Simpson replaces George Schroeder, who served as interim director after the death in August of Thomas Bardin, the previous director. Simpson lives in Lexington and has a Master’s degree in mass communication and bachelors of arts in English from the University of South Carolina.
