DHEC: 2,204 new cases of COVID-19, 11 new deaths in SC

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control released the state’s latest coronavirus data as of Sunday.

DHEC reports 1,954 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 250 probable cases for a total of 2,204 new cases. DHEC also reports 11 additional deaths. This brings the total number confirmed cases to 527,409, with 8,808 total virus related deaths in the state.

DHEC says they received 16,717 molecular test results from the latest testing period, which yielded a percent positive rate 15.5%.

According to the department, a total of 4,058,425 coronavirus vaccine doses have been administered to South Carolinians so far.
