New Year starts warmly for Lowcountry vets, needy
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — The New Year is starting off warmly for veterans, homeless and the needy in the Charleston area.
The 10th annual coat and clothes giveaway is being held New Year’s Day in downtown Charleston.
During the event, coats, clothes, footwear and nonperishable food items are being given away.
The annual event is sponsored by state Sen. Robert Ford as well as state Reps. Chip Limehouse and Wendell Gilliard.
