Robotics competition scheduled at The Citadel
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Students from South Carolina and several neighboring states are scheduled to meet at The Citadel to see which of them can build the best robot.
The FIRST Robotics Competition is to begin this weekend with the announcement of this year’s challenge and the distribution of robot parts at the state military college in Charleston.
Student teams then meet in four weeks at the North Charleston Coliseum for the Palmetto Regional and a chance to advance to the national competition.
In last year’s challenge, teams had to design robots to hang Lego pieces on poles.
The national competition has been held since 1989.
