$10,000 reward offered in case of missing SC boy

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the return of a Columbia toddler missing for more than a month.

Police Chief Randy Scott said Tuesday his officers were asking people in the Carolinas and Georgia for any information about Amir Jennings.

The boy was 18 months old when relatives last saw him at Thanksgiving. Amir’s mother, 22-year-old Zinah Jennings, has been jailed for lying to police about her son’s whereabouts.

Search warrants show police went to Jennings’ home earlier this month after her stepfather told them he saw her in the backyard with a shovel about the time the boy disappeared.

Police found a shovel at the home and also found what appeared to be blood stains on a blanket and clothes in the back of Zinah Jennings’ car.
