Man shot to death in Charleston County home

LINCOLNVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Charleston County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the shooting death of a Summerville man during a home invasion in Lincolnville.

Deputies say masked gunmen broke into the home where 40-year-old Leland M. Shannon Jr. was early Tuesday and shot him in the leg as he sat at the kitchen table.

Sheriff’s Capt. Jeff Watson said investigators have not determined a motive for the shooting.

Sheriff’s officials say the three people in the home invited a man in to talk. One of the occupants, 33-year-old Antwone Aiken walked the man out to a car and found two other men in the vehicle.

Investigators say the men in the car broke into the home and shot Shannon.

Watson says nothing was taken from the home.
