Duke Energy VP speaks at USC on leadership success
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Duke Energy communications chief Ginny Mackin is meeting with students at the University of South Carolina as part of the school’s program on leadership.
Mackin speaks Thursday at the university’s school of law auditorium at 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
With 25 years of experience in communications and business leadership, Mackin was to discuss how leaders must develop what she calls an “emotional intelligence,” She says that if business leaders are able to understand and manage their emotions, they become better leaders and help their firms succeed in the global marketplace.
Mackin joined Duke Energy in 2010 and worked as a communications executive with Wells Fargo, Wachovia and Bank of America.
