SC woman killed in ambulance crash

BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) — A Lowcountry woman has died after an ambulance carrying her husband was involved in an accident.

Fifty-seven-year-old Blandell Gary of Yemassee died in the wreck Tuesday. The crash happened when the private ambulance ran off a road, the driver overcorrected and the ambulance hit a tree.

The ambulance was taking Gary and her husband home at the time.

The driver, the victim’s husband and another passenger were taken to area hospitals.
