Gilbert teen killed while moving deer from road

GILBERT, S.C. (AP) — A Lexington County teen has been struck and killed by a car as he tried to remove an injured deer from the road.

Seventeen-year-old William Patrick Corley of Gilbert died when he was hit about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

The coroner’s office says Corley had parked by the road and was helping move the deer when he was struck.

The driver of the car was not hurt. No charges have been filed.

The Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office are still investigating the death.
