Darlington race backed by VFW, Sport Clips

DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) — Darlington Raceway’s Nationwide Series event will be sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and Sport Clips Haircuts.

Darlington president Chris Browning announced the sponsorship Wednesday. The race will take place on May 11, the night before the Sprint Cup Southern 500.

The Nationwide event will be called the VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200. The VFW and Sport Clips say the partnership will raise awareness about the struggles facing military families and the mission to support active-duty military and veterans.
