Upstate school closes for a day because of bats
FOUNTAIN INN, S.C. (AP) — Students at a Greenville County school will get a day off after a bat was found inside.
Officials made the decision to close Fountain Inn Elementary for Friday after a bat was found in the music room the day before.
Hundreds of bats were found in the school’s walls on Wednesday, when a crew installed a device that was supposed to let the animals fly out, but not get back in the schools.
Officials don’t know how the latest bat got inside the school, but they decided it was best to let administrators, health officials and experts have a day without students around to decide what to do next.
