Great Falls wins record 10th Class A boys title

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Great Falls won its record 10th Class A South Carolina basketball championship with 79-61 victory over Johnsonville on Saturday at the Colonial Life Arena.

Great Falls (27-1) broke the old mark it shared with defunct Charleston High. It was the eighth state title and second in a row for Great Falls coach John Smith

All five Great Falls starters scored in double figures with Xavier Holmes and Ernest Talford leading with 22 points each. Jemarcus Culp added 13, Brandon Criscoe 12 and Shaquille Simpson 10.

The Red Devils took the lead in the first quarter and never relinquished it. They held a six-point lead at the half and used a 15-5 run to open the third quarter to pull away.

Aaron Mack led the Flashes (21-6) with 18 points.
