COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — “The Midlands average for a gallon of unleaded regular gas now stands at $3.14, according to Gas Buddy.com. This is nearly 14 cents over what drivers were paying last week, and they could continue to rise as we near the first of August. We are still a far cry from where we were just two months ago. Crandall sims take a look back. They’re pretty outrageous,” says Pamela Thomas, consumer. Gas prices are once again on the rise. According to AAA this is the 27th straight increase and consumers are feeling the pinch. But just how high will they go? “Nobody can really predict how high,” says Georgia Sebastiano of AAA. Sebastiano says they are bracing for the $4.00 threshold. “That’s when we’re going to to probably experience a lot of people reconsidering their travel plans, you’re going to find other increases in costs of goods,” says Sebastiano. Still consumers say there are other things to consider. “I have a house I need to sell and I can’t so I’m paying two mortgages on a single income right now,” says Thomas. “Not being able to get my kids where they need to be at,” says Landrum.
