Fallen Aiken Officers’ Loved Ones Receive Quilts

AIKEN, S.C. (AP) – The loved ones of two Aiken police officers killed in the line of duty recently have received quilts for comfort. The Aiken Standard reported that the Carolina Pine Quilters Guild has presented quilts to relatives of Master Cpl. Sandy Rogers and Master Officer Scotty Richardson. Rogers’ father, Jack, and her life partner, Frances Williams were given quilts. Richardson’s mother Patsy Richardson, his wife Amelyn Richardson and their three sons also received quilts. Rogers was shot and killed stopping a vehicle on Jan. 28. Richardson was killed Dec. 21 when he was shot during a traffic stop.
