Dawn Staley named 2022 USBWA Coach of the Year

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– For the second time in three seasons, the United States Basketball Writers Association named Dawn Staley Coach of the Year. This comes as the South Carolina Gamecocks are in Minneapolis for the Final Four, where they take on Louisville at 7 p.m. Friday. The winner of this game will take on the winner between UConn and Stanford in the national championship game.

The ABC Columbia Sports team is in Minneapolis to bring you coverage of the Gamecocks push for another national championship.

Staley will formally be presented the award at the USBWA College Basketball Awards Banquet in St. Louis on April 11. She last received the honor in the 2019-2020 season.
