SC officials confirm body is missing PA man
LANCASTER, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina officials have confirmed a body found earlier this week is that of a Pennsylvania man who had been missing for several weeks.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said it is working with the Stroud Area Regional Police in Pennsylvania in the case of 87-year-old Joseph DeVivo. He was last seen Feb. 23.
Authorities say 31-year-old Rico Herbert led investigators to the body. Herbert was arrested in Charlotte, N.C., on Feb. 25 after he was found driving DeVivo’s car. He also had DeVivo’s wallet.
Deputies said DeVivo appeared to have been dead for several weeks.
Herbert is being held on a fugitive warrant from Pennsylvania.
