Union woman charged with financial fraud

UNION, S.C. (AP) — An employee at the Department of Employment and Workforce office in Union has been arrested and charged with taking $10,000 from a previous employer.

WSPA-TV in Spartanburg reported (http://bit.ly/xQ7XBs) that Leslie Elaine Johnson is charged with forgery and breach of trust for taking the money from a Union finance company where she worked as manager last year.

Police say she took personal information from clients and took out loans in their names and kept the money.

She left that job in December and began working for the state agency. The agency would not say whether she is still employed.

If was not clear if Johnson has an attorney.
