Marshals arrest Longs shooting suspect
CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say another suspect in a Longs shooting death has been arrested in Myrtle Beach.
Horry County deputies say U.S. Marshals arrested 21-year-old Kareem Labonte Vereen on Tuesday.
Thirty-three-year-old Gemell Drakeford was shot in the leg in the Wampee section of Horry County last month and later died at a hospital. Authorities have not released a motive for the shooting.
Another suspect already has been charged with murder. Authorities say a GPS monitoring bracelet he was wearing while awaiting trial in another shooting also put 21-year-old Jamar Wilson at the scene of Drakeford’s shooting.
