Sheriff: 2 charged in 2008 Greenwood killing
GREENWOOD, S.C. (AP) — A man from Cross Hill and a Greenwood woman have been charged with murder in the 2008 shooting death of Ernest Glenn Taylor of Greenwood.
The Index-Journal of Greenwood reported Tuesday (http://bit.ly/H8nFaR ) that sheriff investigators arrested 52-year-old John William Dobbins and 41-year-old Sabrina Marler on charges of murder, armed robbery, kidnapping and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
A sheriff’s report said Taylor was shot and his body was found along a highway in July 2008. The arrest warrant said Dobbins and Marler had tried to buy prescription pills from Taylor and he was shot when he refused to sell them any.
Dobbins and Marler are being held at the Greenwood County jail. It was not clear if they have an attorney.
