1,000 pounds of pot seized in Orangeburg County

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says investigators have made the biggest marijuana bust in his county’s history.
Authorities found 1,000 pounds of marijuana in several places across the county Wednesday night as they arrested 37-year-old Berley Greene.
Ravenell says deputies also seized three BMWs, a Mercedes-Benz, a pickup truck, television sets, surveillance equipment and a rifle.
Ravenell says the investigation has taken months and is not finished. He also thinks the arrest made a big dent in the drug trade in Orangeburg County.
Greene’s bond was set at $500,000. It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney.
