Richland cops raising money for Special Olympics
BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. (AP) — Deputies from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department are helping raise money for the Special Olympics.
Sheriff Leon Lott says members of his department are teaming up with CrossFit Blythewood for a fundraiser on Saturday in Blythewood.
Lott says the couple that runs the CrossFit facility have a son who was recently diagnosed with autism.
The free celebration on Saturday features members of the Sheriff’s Department Mounted Patrol, as well as the department’s helicopter and armored tank. There will also be booths with information and demonstrations.
