WYFF-TV, WVOC-FM take top SC AP awards

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A Greenville television station and a Columbia radio station have taken top honors among South Carolina Associated Press broadcasters.

WYFF-TV and WVOC-FM won station of the year honors at the group’s annual meeting in Columbia on Saturday.

WYFF also won the award for best newscast. WSPA-TV in Spartanburg took second place and WMBF-TV in Myrtle Beach was third.

WYFF also won the award for best sportscast. WSPA was second and WIS-TV in Columbia was third.

WMBF won the award for best weather forecast. WHNS-TV in Greenville was second and WYFF was third.

WVOC also won the award for best newscast. WSCC-FM in Mount Pleasant was second.

WVOC won the radio award for cooperation with The Associated Press.

WSPA won the Joe Loy award for best cooperation among television stations.
