Cousin arrested, charged in Wadmalaw Island death

WADMALAW ISLAND, S.C. (AP) — Bond has been denied for a man charged in the shooting death of his cousin on Wadmalaw Island.

Authorities say 26-year-old Kevin Lamar Howard was in bond court on Monday. He is facing murder, kidnapping and burglary charges.

Charleston County deputies say the body of 24-year-old Adrian Lyles was found last week in a driveway in a wooded area. Authorities say several shell casings were found near the body, and Lyles had been shot multiple times in the back.

Deputies say Howard and another man banged on Lyles’ James Island door and forced him into a car before driving him to Wadmalaw Island.
