Brothers Arrested After Trying to Pick Up Pot From Post Office
ROWESVILLE, S.C. (AP) –Two Orangeburg County brothers have been arrested after deputies say they tried to claim a postal package containing more than two pounds of marijuana. Rowesville Police Chief Michael Thomas says a postmaster told a patrol officer about a package with a strong smell. When a man came in to claim the package on Wednesday, Thomas says the officer had him open it and found the drugs inside. Police arrested Michael Simpson and his brother, Woodrow Bowman. Thomas says Bowman called the post office to ask about the package, which was mailed from a fake address in Texas. The brothers have been charged with possession with intent to distribute. They are free on bond, and it wasn’t known if they have attorneys.
