CPD hosts Ceasefire Columbia to try to prevent gun crime recidivism

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Columbia Police Department hosted its annual Ceasefire Columbia offender call-in on Monday. Police and the U.S. Attorney’s Office invited those out of jail on probation and parole to the outreach event.

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook says the Ceasefire program gives gun offenders a second chance, so they don’t end up back behind bars and lets continued violators know police are turning up the heat when it comes to cracking down on gun violence.
