USGS reports more earthquakes near Elgin

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– According to the South Carolina Emergency Management Division, the United States Geological Survey reported a 2.8 magnitude earthquake Tuesday afternoon. Officials say the earthquake was recorded at 3:09 p.m. about 3 miles from Elgin.

Officials say another earthquake was reported in the same area earlier in the day. USGS says the 2.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 1:24 p.m.
