4 rescued from burning boat in Charleston Harbor
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Four people have been rescued from a boat that burned and sank in Charleston Harbor.
The 37-foot boat, the “Wild Blue Yonder,” sank near the Arthur Ravenel Bridge linking Charleston and Mount Pleasant.
The people on the boat called the Coast Guard late Thursday afternoon reporting an explosion in the engine room and a fire. Petty Officer Chris McDonald says another boat rescued the four people.
McDonald said no one was hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Firefighters were unable to extinguish the blaze before the boat sank about a quarter mile off Charleston.
