Man drowns in York County pond

MCCONNELLS, S.C. (AP) — A Rock Hill man has drowned in a York County pond but a second man was rescued from the water.

The Herald of Rock Hill reports (http://bit.ly/Ix1ANc) that the body of 37-year-old Raimon Gordon was found Saturday afternoon in the pond at a campground in McConnells.

A second man who fell into the pond was rescued by two other people.

Officials say Gordon drowned after the boat he and another man were fishing in overturned. Witnesses said there appeared to be a problem with the boat’s murder.

The name of the rescued man was not released.
