Duke Sandwich to Open New Anderson County Site
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) _ Sandwich spread maker Duke Sandwich Productions is investing $5 million in a new plant in Anderson County. Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt said in an announcement Tuesday that the company, which traces its history in South Carolina back nearly 100 years, expects to add 45 new jobs at the plant in Powdersville. The company has three operations in the northern portion of the state and produces a wide range of sandwich spreads, dips, dressings and dessert items. Duke Sandwich says it will hire for the new positions in September, and have the plant open by the end of that month.
