SC bankruptcy trustee interviews Pavilack on debt
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — A bankruptcy trustees for a South Carolina attorney well known for his television commercials and highway billboards wants to ask about previously undisclosed assets or other information that could help pay off some of his creditors.
The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports (http://bit.ly/Jl1iPm ) that the trustee in charge of Myrtle Beach lawyer Harry Pavilack’s bankruptcy liquidation will interview Pavilack again next month.
Columbia trustee Robert Anderson received permission from a bankruptcy judge this week to ask Pavilack about a fishing expedition. Anderson says he has no direct evidence that Pavilack is hiding any money or assets.
Pavilack owes creditors almost $73 million. His case is one of the largest personal bankruptcies ever in Horry County. His debt is mostly related to real estate deals.
