Former Charleston worker charged with embezzlement
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A Charleston city employee has been arrested and accused of embezzling about $4,000.
Police arrested 29-year-old Antonio Leroy Rutledge of North Charleston was arrested Wednesday.
Police spokesman Charles Francis says the money was taken between January and April 11 this year. Francis says Rutledge was an employee of the city’s building division.
It was not clear if Rutledge has an attorney.
