Columbia firefighter charged with DUI in Georgia
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A Columbia firefighter was charged with DUI following an arrest in Georgia on Sunday. According to Columbia Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins, Adam Beale, who had been with the department for a year, was placed on investigatory suspension pending the outcome of his charges. Beale was arrested by the Banks County Sheriff‘s Office. In a statement Jenkins said, “As the Banks County Sheriff‘s Office is investigating, it would be inappropriate to discuss the investigation and all inquiries concerning Beale‘s arrest should be directed to the investigating law enforcement agency.” “I would like to assure the citizens of the City of Columbia and Richland County that this does not reflect the character, dedication and professionalism of the men and women of the Columbia Fire Department,” Jenkins added.
