Lake Marion Water Agency anniversary marked
CAMERON, S.C. (AP) — U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn, state and federal officials are getting together to mark the 15th anniversary of the Lake Marion Water Agency.
An observance is scheduled for Thursday in Cameron, during which the John Matthews Industrial Park Water Tank will be dedicated.
The agency was charted in October 1997. Working with the Corps of Engineers and Santee Cooper, the agency delivers water to Orangeburg, Bowman and Santee. The agency has future plans to serve Dorchester, Calhoun and Berkeley counties.
The $2.6 million water tank delivers water to the industrial park named for state Sen. John Matthews and to the town of Bowman.
