Free Clinic Grant

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) _ The South Carolina Free Clinic Association is receiving money that it hopes to put toward a support system for its member clinics around the state. The BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Foundation on Friday is presenting the association with a $5.25 million grant. Organizers say the association will receive the money in three annual installments of $1.75 million each. The money is also intended to help fund a statewide certification program. The association says its network of clinics provide comprehensive health care to South Carolina’s uninsured.
