USC’s Walker Likely Out For Finals

OMAHA, NE (WOLO) — Gamecock baseball has had to overcome injuries all season long. Now, they’ll most likely be missing their best hitter in the national championship series. The defending national champion South Carolina baseball team will most likely be without sophomore first baseman Christian Walker for this week’s best-of-three national championship series against Florida. Sunday afternoon, Ray Tanner announced Walker injured his wrist in his final at-bat in Friday night’s win against Virginia. Walker leads USC in every major hitting category–a .355 batting average, 10 home runs and 62 RBI. He has started all 67 games this season.
