(WOLO) — A.C. Flora and Gilbert baseball are now one win away from a state championship series. Lexington and White Knoll will play Wednesday for a spot in the AAAA Lower State Championship. In a match-up of the state’s top two teams at Ashley Ridge, Lexington got a big 2-run home run from Colin Steagall to tie the game at two in the top of the fourth. But Ashley Ridge answered with 8 straight runs to win it 10-2. The Wildcats will now play an elimination at White Knoll Wednesday at 7:30. The Timberwolves beat South Aiken 5-4 courtesy of a walk-off triple. Trailing 1-0 in the third inning at defending AAA state champion St. James, A.C. Flora’s bats exploded for 12 unanswered runs en route to a 12-1 win. Flora will host the Lower State Championship Friday night. The winner of St. James and Chapin will have to beat them twice. Chapin kept its season alive Monday night with a 12-0 win at Berkeley. Gilbert advanced to the AA Upper State Championship game with a 4-2 home win over Palmetto.
