Hammond Wins Another State Title

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Another November, another football state championship for Hammond. For the 8th time in the last ten years, the Skyhawks are Class 3A SCISA state champs. Saturday night against Pinewood Prep at Benedict College, Hammond jumped out to a 22-0 first half lead and cruised to a 29-13 victory. After starting the scoring with a safety, quarterback Graham Smith connected with Jack Theodore for a 61-yard touchdown to go up 9-0. Smith then hooked up with Lucas Prickett for a 95-yard score. George Folline made it 22-0 Hammond with an interception return for a touchdown. Pinewood Prep cut the Hammond lead to 22-13 with two touchdown runs by Leslie Redden, but a Malik Bennett 42-yard 4th quarter TD run sealed Hammond’s 25th win in a row.
