UConn remains No. 1 in AP women’s hoops poll

UConn remains the No. 1 team in The Associated Press women’s basketball poll after winning its lone game of the week.

The Huskies received all 32 votes from the national media panel Monday and have a busy week ahead. Connecticut plays at Chattanooga and No. 23 DePaul before hosting third-ranked Notre Dame on Saturday.

South Carolina stayed second with Baylor and Maryland rounding out the first five.

Seton Hall entered at No. 22 as the Pirates improved to 7-0 for the first time in 26 years. UCLA entered at 24 after losing in overtime to the Irish. The Bruins’ two losses this season have come against South Carolina and Notre Dame.

Texas, Oregon State, Tennessee, Mississippi State and Ohio State complete the first 10.

George Washington, Iowa and Louisville fell out of the poll.
