Greenville-area couple arrested for snakes in home
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Two Greenville County residents have been arrested and charged with illegal neglect of a child after authorities found eight poisonous snakes in their home.
Sheriff’s deputies say 28-year-old Charles Daniel Dutton and 25-year-old Rebecca Dutton did not have a license, permit or certificates authorizing them to have the snakes.
Arrest warrants state the couple also did not have proper housing for the snakes.
Authorities say the couple’s 3-year-old and 2-month-old children were endangered.
The snakes have been taken by animal control officers.
It was not clear if the couple has an attorney.
