A Baby for Mother’s Day
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — “It’s kind of scary and a little overwhelming,” says Heather Green, First-time Mom. Twenty-eight year old Heather Green and her husband, James became parents for the first time this week. “A blessing, yeah. He’s here and it’ll be my 1st Mother’s Day, wonderful couldn’t have asked for anything better,” says Green. Their son, James McKibben Green, VI, came into the world on Tuesday. Heather says the fact that his birth is this close to her first Mother’s Day is something she will always cherish. “Something new, you’ve never had before something that’s going to be there for the rest of my life,” says Green. Crandall Sims reporting, “Heather isn’t the only Mom getting an early Mother’s Day gift this year, a total of 21 babies were born here at Palmetto Baptist the same day as Heather’s son. The very next, 17 were born.” But little “Ben,” as Heather and James call him, came into the world a few days early. However, she says his arrival is a gift like no other. “You can’t compare, not at all, no jewelry or anything could compare to anything like that,” says Green. Even with all the joy, Heather says she and James are a little nervous about being parents. “Wow, what if he cries and cries and we can’t get him to stop. You know, I guess just the unexpected,” says Green. The two are looking forward to this weekend with their Moms. “Wow, I guess just overwhelming, she’s very excited, it’s her first grandchild, so kind of a Mother’s day gift for her too,” says Green. But James has a task at hand. “Make sure she has a good day and make sure he has everything she need, so it’s going to be my day to make sure she has a good one,” says James Green
