Flora, Gilbert One Game Away From State Title

(WOLO) — A.C. Flora and Gilbert baseball are one game away from adding another state title to their collection. Behind a solo home run from David Houser and stellar pitching from Player Loving, Flora shut out Fort Mill 3-0 at home to start the best-of-three class AAA state championship series. The Falcons can clinch their third state championship in the last 11 years with a win at Fort Mill Wednesday night. In the rain and on the road, Gilbert’s Collins Shirley hit a 1st-inning grand slam and Connor Owings added a home run to help the Indians start the class AA state championship series at Hanahan with an 8-3 win. Gilbert can clinch its third state title in six years with a win at home Wednesday night.
